Hi,
I am an ex-engineer, who decided that we get only one life to do what we want, and I realized I did not want to go to a 9-5 office (no offence to those who do 🙂 ). That was the day I became “an engineer who turned out to be a photographer”.
I am that guy who is in love with the camera, so much that I like to call myself a generalist and not a one-genre shooter. This is evident from my portfolio, I like shooting weddings, political/corporate events, birthdays, anniversaries, or family gatherings of any sort. I also shoot school sports and live performing arts. Personally, I also like to shoot wildlife and landscapes, trust me landscapes was the last genre I thought of falling in love with but it hit me good when I bought a wide angle Canon 16-35mm lens.
I am an avid reader, a beginner but an avid traveller too :-p I just finished my Colombia trip and Thailand, Vietnam are next.
I have shot portraits in my studio as well, so I can help with graduation portraits, fashion portraits.
Equipment wise, I started with a basic Canon Rebel camera after I accidentally ended up with a camera along side my friend who is a videographer. It was an upright love (or epiphany etc.) for the camera. I used Rebel for a year, learned to shoot in manual mode (yes I am those tech freaks who always use manual mode in every shoot, it just gives me more freedom over the machine to choose the right settings as per my own artistic eye). Then came a day when I spent my yearly bonus on a brand new Canon R6mkii, Canon RF 24-70mm 2.8L lens. Slowly, I built my kit and included another camera Canon 5Dmkiv, Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L ii, Canon EF 16-35mm F4L, and a Sigma 150-600mm C lens to shoot wildlife. I chose my second camera to be a DSLR and not mirrorless as I started missing the shutter sound (twchaaak) which albeit the fact that mirrorless shutter also provides, is not as original to my ears as DSLR shutter (told you I was a nerd).
I would love to share more but maybe in some other blog. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any queries, even if it includes budget issues. I could hopefully help you myself or put you in contact with someone who could accordingly.
